Marriage

A Union of Two

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”- 1 Peter 4:8

HMMM!!!! “Love each other deeply”.

WOW!!

What an amazing command/instruction/advice.

God’s words are definitely wise words. “Love each other deeply”. Wise words and important life verse for marriages. Marriage is a union of two sinners and Love is the main ingredient (among others) for a stable marriage relationship. There is no perfect marriage and no one person is the perfect partner in any marriage. There will be times when a husband or wife may fail each other, mess up, or do something hurtful. It is important to remember God’s definition of love and know that loving each other deeply can cover all sins. Some sins will be harder to cover than others but with “deep love” and God….. It will eventually.

This verse reminds me of my own marriage; all the hurt, disappointments that my husband and I faced in the first years of our marriage. We didn’t know how to treat each other right the right way. We used hurtful words, reacted very harshly over issues that could have been resolved peacefully and in love. Whenever I think back to those years and some of the incidents that occurred between us, I am thankful to God for the opportunity to learn from our mistakes and i’m most thankful to God that we loved each other enough to want to fight for our marriage’s happiness.

We’re two imperfect people living in an imperfect world trying to make our lives together a little less imperfect.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:12
